A Landmark Gathering in Emergency Airway Management

On March 27-28, 2025, the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) Department of Emergency Medicine proudly hosted its 25th Post-Graduate Course entitled “AIRWAY-ELITE: An ASEAN Airway Assembly”, a two-day event that brought together the region’s most dedicated Emergency Medicine physicians, Anesthesiologists, and resident doctors.

Held at the University of the Philippines, Manila, this milestone convention became a collaborative hub for airway management knowledge and skill enhancement, emphasizing innovation, clinical excellence, and cross-border exchange among ASEAN healthcare professionals.

Each day began with expert-led interactive discussions, featuring thought leaders in the fields of Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology. The morning plenary sessions focused on the latest evidence-based practices, clinical pearls, and real-world case analyses in airway management—delivered by a panel of nationally and internationally recognized speakers.

Afternoons were devoted to hands-on, practical workshops designed to enhance participants’ technical proficiency in airway techniques. From video laryngoscopy to advanced supraglottic devices, delegates had the opportunity to experience cutting-edge training tools under expert supervision—fostering an immersive, high-yield learning environment.

The event was made even more impactful through the generous support of Dynamed Healthcare Incorporated, who proudly sponsored the 2-day assembly. Dynamed showcased the latest trends and innovations in airway management, providing participants with firsthand exposure to emerging medical technologies and equipment designed to elevate clinical outcomes in emergency settings.

Celebrating 25 years of academic excellence and service, the Department of Emergency Medicine at UP-PGH marked this event not only as a scientific gathering but also as a testament to its enduring commitment to advancing emergency care in the Philippines and beyond.

With its blend of scholarly exchange, technical training, and industry collaboration, “AIRWAY-ELITE” stands as a pioneering model for future airway-focused conventions in the ASEAN region.
